1960's Marvel Tales to Astonish and Tales of Suspense Comics This auction features a nice group of Marvel "Tales to Astonish" (6 issues) and Marvel "Tales of Suspense" comics (11 issues) from the 1960's. I have looked at each comic carefully in order to provide the detailed information listed below. The conditions listed are based on my application of the comic grading standards used by most sellers. In general, these comics are in good condition. No rust was noted on the staples and the comics lay fairly flat. In general, these comics have moderate cover wear with some minor chipping along the edges, small creases, some bent corners, and other minor to moderate wear (any exceptions are listed below). Most staples are attached. There are no missing pages and no writing or other significant concerns on the inside (any exceptions are listed below). The pages are mostly cream colored with some browning along the edges (more noteable along light colored areas such as the back cover). The illustrations have nice color. There is a small date stamp on the back cover. Condition and some general comments are as follows: Tales to Astonish #37 Good- : significant cover wear (creases,blemishes), small tears on a few pages #49 Very good : minor cover roll, a few cover creases #50 Fair+ : writing on front and back cover, missing piece on back cover, spine rolled with chipping #59 Very good- : minor cover roll, spine creases, small tear on back cover and on last page #60 Good+ : some writing on front cover and on inside of back cover #90 Fair : front and back cover detached, areas of chipping and small missing pieces on both sides of cover Tales of Suspense #25 Good- : cover well worn, writing on inside of back cover, 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" pieces missing from back cover #34 Fair : both covers detached and in poor condition with small pieces missing along edges, last ad page missing #37 Fair+ : cover well worn (almost detached) with chipping and creases #49 Very good : small spine roll, edge wear #57 VG : small spine roll, small stain on lower back corner #58 VG : small spine roll, small stain on back, tearing by staples #59 Good : some writing on front cover which is mostly detached #61 Good+ : some writing on front cover #62 VG+ #Unknown Fair- (due to no cover) : titled "Mister Morgan's Monster", edge chipping, rolled spine #Unknown Fair (due to no cover) :titled "What Happened in Dead Storage", discolored, but good In case you are interested, I am selling 4 other groups of 1960's Marvel comics this week.
